TOPICAL PRAYER
TOPICAL PRAYER
This page contains a collection of Topical Scripture Verses that you are familiar with.
These Topical Scripture Verses help us pray short and precise prayers. We hit right at the spot, like a dart.
It is not advocating that long prayer is ineffective and that God is bored. Absolutely not! God is very pleased when we talk to HIM.
While the Bible teaches that we are to pray without ceasing, God understands that we are humans and have our weaknesses and frailties. Sometimes, we do experience loss of words to pray.
When that happens, we may need the Holy Spirit to strengthen us and intercede on our behalf. At this time, if you can pray in your supernatural language, let the Holy Spirit lead you in prayer. Otherwise, pray in your natural language.
Trust that one minute of your utterance in heavenly language covers perhaps 7 times more prayer items. This is because the Holy Spirit within us intercedes to God on our behalf for all our prayer needs. When human effort fails, we must rely on GOD for the things we can't do. HE fully understands all that we desire to pray. Hence, the Holy Spirit utters our requests on our behalf and transmits them to GOD.
Romans 8:25-26 (NKJV)
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings (utterances) which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
A word of advice for those who fear speaking in unknown tongues and are still doubtful.
Our body is the temple of the living God. Hence, we can trust that our utterances or groanings are of God's. Paul, a great theologian and an apostle of Jesus Christ, said he spoke in tongues more than any other. This tells us Paul sought the Holy Spirit's help in his private prayers and used tongues for the right purposes and occasions.
1 Corinthians 14:18-19 (NKJV)
I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all; 19 yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I may teach others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue.
But if we know....or are self-aware, we harbour sins or have unconfessed sins within us, we should pray in our natural language. Until we are made right with God, let us feel comfortable, without reservation or doubt, to fully trust the Holy Spirit's guidance to intercede in tongues on our behalf. The name 'Holy Spirit' already tells us HE is someone holy. We should therefore be holy when we approach HIM.
Leviticus 11:44 (NKJV)
For I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy.
Hebrews 12:14 (NKJV)
Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.
Let us not give a chance for the devil to work on our minds and hearts as we use any holy things (such as the heavenly language) of God. In addition, when we pray in tongues, we can trust and believe that God desires to give us good gifts from Heaven, not evil. Even as parents, we desire to bless our children with good things. That is exactly the heart of our Heavenly Father.
Matthew 7: 9-11 (NKJV)
Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
