SERVE GOD THROUGH PRAYER
Since we launched ‘Weekly Prayer’, it has been almost four months by now. This is to say, you have been our prayer partner until now. We hope you have been blessed throughout this prayer journey!
This morning, a verse came to me in Acts 6:4, “but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” Our mission is to serve God by serving other people.
To launch the Weekly Prayer is not an easy task. We have to ask and confirm if we are doing it right. Is it in line with God’s will? Does it serve the purpose even with a few joined in? How long do we have to do it? Can we minimize it to just one day? Can we just pray on our own?
Many of our answers came from His scriptures and confirmations through personal encounters. It is a hundred percent ‘Yes’ to launch Weekly Prayer. Like others, we too have a fleshly nature, that is, the tendency to serve and to do things through the fastest or easiest way out.
A month or two ago, while praying for the sick on my own, the image of a speaker [P] appeared. He is an overseas speaker, and for a long time, I have not tuned in to watch his programs. I prayed for his health immediately after seeing his image in my prayer. After praying, I went online to check on his programs. Nothing alarming to note and he seems to be in his pink of health. He still has his latest program uploaded on his TV shows. I just wanted to confirm if I had seen the image correctly. I thought I was wrong about it.
A few days ago, this speaker [P] made a personal video. He had requested prayer support from viewers, especially those who have been watching his programs, to be committed to pray for him. He has a heart condition and is facing some health challenges. This tells me God loves this speaker who served HIM zealously by feeding his flocks all these years. HE (God) has personally ordered prayers for him. I trust I am not the only one being alerted to pray. Some others may have as well.
Today, are you enrolled in God’s prayer regiment? The Weekly Prayer is our opportunity to serve God. Prayer is not just a service unto God but also to serve the body of believers.
During early September 2025, I had a dream. In the dream, I saw a scroll or a paper with many items. The items [with plenty of words] were moving up slowly. That time, we hadn't started our Weekly Prayer. Nevertheless, this dream has inspired the Weekly Prayer, and we launched the first Weekly Prayer around the end of December 2025. In the dream, the list of items in sentences kept moving upward, like a rolling scroll. I tried to capture the words but I didn’t remember. In my spirit, I knew they were prayer items. I could only stare at the scroll, observing how the items moved upward one after another, then replaced by the next, and then the next.
Next scene, a sister suddenly came to me. She notified me that ____ [“A Name”] was sick. In dreams, the things or persons we saw are symbolic. That person may not be the exact person to be prayed for. God has kept it a secret who to pray for until the right time. However, HE let me know that the person to be prayed for has the same holy calling but different office as with the 'symbolised' person. Then I woke up. While I do not know yet what God wanted me to do. I occasionally prayed for the “symbolised” person, waiting, observing and watching.
Indeed, God has alerted me of an assignment in advance. Not because one person or another is more holier or special to carry out a task. It is all about unity and exhibiting God's love among the believers. If one refuses or is unable to do the task, God has many others whom He could order and assign for the task. It is all about being obedient and for the benefits of the person prayed for. God loves these individuals and are mindful of their ordeals.
Psalm 112:4
Unto the upright there arises light (hope) in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
Did this dream come to pass? Yes, and myself and a team are actively supporting the sister in prayer. When the dream came to pass, it was the exact same person who notified and suggested a time slot to offer prayer. When we receive a mission, we cannot say 'No' because God has already instructed us what to do. Dreams, if they are from God, can be a preparation for us. We know exactly what, how, and when to do. In preparation to serve God, we are careful to ensure the works are duly carried out, even if it means being difficult and inconvenient. Our objective is to ensure we have faithfully completed our mission.
How blessed it is to know that God has raised watchmen to pray specifically for Speaker [P] and the sister in His own ways. We thank God for His lovingkindness and mercy for all His beloved children. Great is His faithfulness!
Psalm 143:1-2
Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications! In Your faithfulness answer me, and in Your righteousness.
When God instructs us to pray for someone, we must not shirk our responsibility to others. Let’s obey and go and do, go and pray, to complete our mission. If you have been consistently joining us in our Weekly Prayer, be assured that all our prayer items are like a scroll, moving upwards to God one after another. As long as we have breath, we can serve God through our prayer.
Psalm 116:1-2 (NLT)
I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!
When we render service to God and others, God will surely bless us in unexpected ways. He will also order and mobilize prayers from others on our behalf.
